HAPPINESS

galvin & mella

hello everyone.

Happiness, the topic many people have spoken about.
It's precisely why I chose to talk about it today!

according to wiki,

Happiness is a mental or emotional state of well-being characterized by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy.[1] A variety of biologicalpsychologicalreligious, and philosophical approaches have striven to define happiness and identify its sources. Various research groups, including Positive psychology, endeavor to apply the scientific method to answer questions about what "happiness" is, and how we might attain it.

thankyou wikipedia.

& there are definitely 101 more definitions about happiness, but I liked to share mine.

I was unhappy studying pathology in the morning up till afternoon.
However, I feel excited and satisfied to be blogging right now.

Happiness A - based on solely mood/interest

I was unhappy having to work every weekend.
However, the thought of getting the bag I wanted draws a smile over my face.

Happiness B - materialistic happiness

I was sad when mummy was sad.
I felt joy when our family come together to celebrate daddy's birthday

Happiness C - the kind that lies within

Spreading joy, love & kindness can indeed make one feel satisfied. I believe it's an innate sense in all of us.
We are happy because we are happy.
Yes, maslow can tell us about happiness.
Yes, psychology studies can define happiness.
Yes, religion tells us about happiness.
YES TO SO MANY SOURCES OUT THERE.

however, I believe happiness depends on no one but the individual.

It's only human to cry, laugh, be angry.
And unfortunately, it's also us who restricts certain emotions.

eg. boy growing up should always appear strong tough and emotionless.

So yes, linking today's topic with my picture above.
That one in blue makes me happy by far.
His name is Galvin tay, we met back in JC.
And, yes, we are dating!

Before I skip on to my story, I'd like to give you a bite of my current lifestyle.

Being busy with school and my part time job, I hard have time for friends, boyfriend and my family. However. I try to my best to make time for them! So yes, being commited to my schedules does trap my little soul from time to time. Yup! makes me moody and I find myself wearing a ghastly expression every now and then! yes, HAPPINESS A not achieved.

so HAPPINESS A  + B + C can work well hand in hand to produce a HAPPY INDIVIDUAL!
(those who love math)

Okay, on with my lil story.

So yesterday, i met galvin we had breakfast in the morning and he came over my place after that.
He was hooked onto diablo while i nursed my sorethroat.
Soon after, we started feeling hungry again.
My crave for dim sum was annoyingly huge.
I started whining about din tai feng to him and he was equally hungry.
So both of us got up and decided to fill our raging stomachs.
To our dismay, hougang had no dim sum areas. Furthermore, there was no delivery for din tai feng.
The most random thing happened.
We walked down and instead of settling at a coffeshop,
we found ourselves entering the mini supermarket below my block.
We bought pre made prata, sausages, popcorn chicken and a can of curry to go alone with our pratas.
We had a mini cook out in my house.
Galvin turned out to be a good cook only because he watched me fail at my first prata.
Oh well, with the help of both pairs of hands, our trusty microwave and hungry stomach, everything was done in about 30 mins.
We had a nice late lunch while enjoying a movie on cable.
It made me really happy.

Not something fantastic but could be done everyday right?
Treasure moments.
Another tip to being happy (:
Catch the happy bug and spread it.

TTFN!
